Aluminum single-layer panels typically use 2-4mm thick AA1100 pure aluminum sheets or high-quality aluminum alloy sheets such as AA3003. In China, 2.5mm thick AA3003 aluminum alloy sheets are commonly used. Aluminum-plastic composite panels generally use a 3-4mm thick three-layer structure, consisting of two 0.5mm thick layers sandwiching PVC or PE. From the materials alone, we can see that the cost of aluminum-plastic composite panels is significantly lower than that of aluminum single-layer panels. In the market, a 4mm thick composite panel is approximately 120 RMB/square meter cheaper than a 2.5mm thick aluminum single-layer panel. For a 10,000 square meter project, using aluminum-plastic panels would reduce the cost by 1.2 million RMB compared to using aluminum single-layer panels.
Metal panel curtain walls have been used for decades, and the three types still in use include aluminum single-layer panels, aluminum-plastic composite panels, and aluminum honeycomb panels. Among these three materials, aluminum single-layer panels and aluminum-plastic composite panels are the most commonly used.
