The columns and beams of the metal curtain wall should be conductively connected to the lightning protection system of the main structure.
Non-conductive protective layers should be removed at connection points to ensure unobstructed conductivity.
3. Lightning Grounding
The metal frame of the curtain wall should be grounded, and the grounding resistance should meet the requirements of the specifications.
The construction of the grounding device should meet the reliability requirements of lightning protection grounding.
4. Lightning Protection
Lightning protection for the curtain wall should include lightning rods, down conductors, and grounding devices.
For high-rise buildings, the dispersion of side-strike lightning and lightning current should be considered.
5. Construction and Testing
Lightning protection construction shall be carried out strictly in accordance with the design drawings and specifications.
After construction is completed, lightning protection testing shall be conducted to ensure the effectiveness of the lightning protection system.
