How to Choose Aluminum Alloy Doors and Windows
Compared to steel and wood doors and windows, aluminum alloy doors and windows have the following advantages:
(1) Lightweight and high strength. The density is only 1/3 that of steel.
(2) Good sealing performance. Sealing performance directly affects the functionality and energy consumption of doors and windows. Sealing performance includes four aspects: airtightness, watertightness, heat insulation, and sound insulation.
(3) Good durability and convenient use and maintenance. Aluminum alloy doors and windows do not rust, fade, or peel, require almost no maintenance, and have extremely long service life for parts.
(4) Elegant decorative effect. The surface of aluminum alloy doors and windows has an artificial oxide film and is colored to form a composite film layer. This composite film is not only corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant, but also has a certain fire resistance and extremely high gloss. Due to its lightweight nature and precise and accurate processing and assembly, aluminum alloy doors and windows are easy and flexible to open and close without noise.
Deformation and difficulty in pushing and pulling aluminum alloy doors and windows are common occurrences. Consumers should pay attention to the following points when purchasing:
First, check the material. There are six main aspects to consider regarding the material:
1. Thickness: Aluminum alloy sliding doors come in 70 and 90 series. For residential interiors, the 70 series is sufficient. The series number indicates the thickness of the door frame in millimeters. Aluminum alloy sliding windows come in 55, 60, 70, and 90 series. The series selection should be based on the window opening size and local wind pressure. Aluminum alloy sliding windows used for enclosed balconies should be at least 70 series.
2. Strength: The tensile strength should reach 157 Newtons per square millimeter, and the yield strength should reach 108 Newtons per square millimeter. When purchasing, you can gently bend the profile by hand; it should return to its original shape after being released.
3. Color: The color of the same aluminum alloy profile should be consistent. If there is a significant color difference, it should not be purchased.
4. Flatness: Check the surface of the aluminum alloy profile; there should be no dents or bulges.
5. Gloss: When purchasing aluminum alloy doors and windows, avoid profiles with open bubbles (white spots), slag (black spots), cracks, burrs, peeling, or other obvious defects.
6. Oxidation: The oxide film thickness should reach 10 micrometers. When purchasing, you can lightly scratch the surface of the profile to see if the oxide film can be rubbed off.
